Today I’ve put together a beginner level tutorial for a fennec fox. I made him a little larger than previous figurines because I remembered that it sometimes is easier for beginners, especially young children to work with larger amounts of clay. Working in smaller detail takes practice and I don’t want anyone to get frustrated using polymer clay!
At the beginning of my tutorials I do lay out the proportions of each piece, so one can scale this to as small or large as you want. So you could make a teeny tiny fennec fox as a charm or earrings, or a very large fox as a decorative piece.
In this video I also introduced a wooden sculpting tool. Now over the years I have acquired a ton of different tools. However, I always come back to my wooden tools. You really can’t beat them for shaping and smoothing polymer clay and compared to a lot of polymer clay tools on the market they are very cheap!
